And once again, I eschew LeGuin for Zelazny. Instead of finishing The Farthest Shore, I started The Chronicles of Amber. It's been so long (so long, so long, been putting out fire) since I've read it that while I remember the gist of the story (Amber is the true city on the true Earth and the rest of the multiverse are mere shadows of Amber; only a Prince(ss) of Amber can travel between shadows, etc. Very quantum mechanical in it's Platonic depiction of the universe), I really don't remember any details. Read Nine Princes in Amber and The Guns of Avalon so far. A fun read, although I find myself eliding a lot of the shadow travel descriptions. (Eliding? If not, close enough.) On to book three, Sign of the Unicorn, where Corwin will have to deal with the consequences of his stupidity and selfishness of the first two books. Seriously, dude, how did you not see this coming? I thought you were supposed to be the clever one.
